Amateurism does not imply imperfection, unresolved, lack of quality. Professional most often means cheap prostitute,

William Morris Dancing

Actually working on this unless someone steals the idea (which is fine because then I'm saved the trouble but please invite me along)

Lots of Arts & Crafts type designed materials, ties, shirts etc. purchased from say Liberty in London placed on the floor in a suitable room or setting for a lone, probably male dancer, to dance upon furiously, and possibly with muddy boots, most likely in a town like Lewes, East Sussex, 'U'K.

Festival of Mediocrity

For an international festival to be organised where the criteria for selection of participating artists/work would be the degree of mediocrity. Success and Failure are both glamorised in the contemporary landscape (See movie "I'm Still Here" for a recent sample of the latter) and the aim would be to promote the less incredible (but still good).

Might be called "It'll Do" or "That's Fine" (or say Media-Crity if its got a new media orientation).

Organisation and running of this event would also be mediocre.

The intention might be to attract an audience but to just about keep them interested for the duration.

Nontrepreneurial idea: Invigilation Support Service

I'm thinking that The Doomsbury Set should set up an Invigilation Support Service to provide company, sustenance and support for those invigilating art exhibitions. I envisage a small van loaded up with coffee, wine, bread, olives and a big lump of cheese travelling from gallery to gallery. Shoulder or foot massage might be offered. In addition we would come prepared to gossip about the other invigilators, numbers of visitors, quality of curation etc. As is our usual practice the Negative Business Model (NBM) would apply: instead of ‘customers’ paying for this service we, members of the impoverished Set, would donate an amount to them for the priviledge.
